One part of essex history i know about through were i live is the fact that one of the first ships to take settlers to America met and left from essex in the ship called the Mayflower. Before leaving they all met in a pub in Billericay, which unfortunately isnt there anymore and is a small town which i live near. The ship was captained by Christopher Jones who took people we now know today as pilgrims to America New England. I intend to relate the design of my light around this historical event.
I was also thinking of redesigning the solar powered garden lights you can buy because through my own experience ive found most of them seem to flood with run water and break after month. Also as i have dogs they were knocked over and broke very easily.

ReplyDeleteVery interesting story. I think you will be able to find a lot of interesting design elements from it. As a user, you have found a problem, just remember in the process of solving it to use of the inspiration you got from the historic passage, its elements and how you can apply it to structure, fasteners and connections or materials.
It sounds great and I'm sure you will end up with a very interesting lighting product.
